Our Projects
Diabetes Youth Camp
The Centre has held annual Young Diabetics Camp since year 2001. In the first 5 years most of those attending the camps were repeats but a different trend has been noted in the last two years with more first timers and younger patients. In 2009, we held a camp for 50 children for the first time; the main age bracket attending was 6-18 years. During the camp a lot on diabetes management was taught. There has been a notable increase in new patients could probably be as a result of more efficiency in making earlier diagnosis through the raised awareness on diabetes through numerous trainings that the Centre has undertaken in one of its just concluded funded Education project. This project has been funded by the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF) in partnership with the MOPHs for 5 years and has been running since October 2008.
